Staff Performance Analysis for Mercury Office

We’ve now just finished adding a new staff performance analysis module to Mercury Office.

This modules takes into account the staff member’s wages, against their turnover and commission, to give the office manager a true picture of that staff member’s worth to the company.

The staff will have a reports area with a higher level of security, to allow them (and only them) to see their own personal performance report.  As with all Mercury features, this report is live, so each staff member can monitor their performance on an ongoing basis.

In difficult times, we find this module will help motivate staff to chase bookings and increase profits, while helping the manager to monitor their worth.

Ancillary Product Reminders

We are in the process of adding a new feature to Mercury Office which reminds sales staff to try and sell more ancillary products.

All of Mercury Office has been designed with experience from a real travel agency.  We are finding that more and more customers are not aware of the extra holiday products the agent can offer at the time of booking, such as car hire, airport parking, airport lounges, etc.  They often feel that this is something they need to sort out separately, usually over the internet.

At times like this, it’s obviously important to catch as many sales as possible, especially extras which offer good commission.

This is why we’re adding this feature.  As soon as the sales staff as made the file, they are taken to a screen where they have the option of adding prices to each of the relevant ancillary products.  A last page will always print with the customers receipt/itinerary, which lists all the products to the customer.  If a price has been entered, this will be shown next to the product as their ‘personalised quotation’.  If the staff member hasn’t had time to get this price, it will display the line ‘you’re personalised quotation is being prepared and will follow soon’.

The sales staff will be reminded by the system to prepare this quotation and send it through, right up until the departure date has passed.

The manager will also have a report of files that were not updated with a quotation, to allow him/her to chase staff members.  They will also have a report showing conversions of ancillary products.
